Shepherd’s Vale is a wide valley in central Landon that covers 600 square miles. It is bordered by jagged hills to the north called the Giants's Teeth, and to the south by a wider, lower set of hills called Shepherd's Peaks. There are two prominent lakes, Pelican Lake, which is fed by natural springs and run off from the Giant's Teeth, and Shady Shallows, which sits to the south and is likewise fed by springs and runoff from the Shepherd's Peaks. The largest town in the vale is Ravenrock, with a popution of around 1800, followed by a handful of smaller villages including Davyd's Rest, Littlefalls, Lonethistle, Lowick, and Woody Glen.

The largest feature of the vale is The Hollow Wood, a dense, deciduous forest covering about a hundred square miles, a quarter of it being old growth. It is well known for having a sizeable fey population.

In addition to the lakes, Pelican Lake feeds a small river named Birberry Run, which flows east out of the vale and into the Brineshire River.

Other noteworthy features include a monastery dedicated to Tobris, an ancient stone windmill, the abandoned Gellar Keep, and Tor's Peak
